The autonomy of the local church

Soul Freedom
Salvation through Jesus Christ alone
Bible Freedom
Religious Freedom

Because we believe...In the autonomy of the local church we will, under the Lordship of Christ, determine our own membership, leadership and polity. We will ordain whom we feel led of the Lord to ordain, male or female, as they are perceived gifted by the Holy Spirit. We will seek to partner with the larger Christian body of faith as we feel the need and are led, without yielding our church freedom to outside control of associations, denominations or governments.

Because we believe...in Soul freedom we will seek to lead individuals to a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, which involves conversion by conviction, and Baptism for believers. However, we will not force or manipulate a person to profess a conversion experience, understanding that faith is voluntary and that faith experience is diverse.

Because we believe…in Salvation through Jesus Christ alone and in Jesus as our life and faith model we will proclaim and seek to live by the proclamation and the conviction that “Jesus is Lord”. We will not condemn, attack or otherwise disparage other faiths, but will insist upon acceptance of salvation through Christ to obtain full membership within the local body.

Because we believe…in Bible Freedom we will insist on freedom of access to the Bible and freedom of interpretation of the Bible under the Lordship of Christ and the leadership of the Holy Spirit. We will encourage every person to place the authoritative witness of the Bible at the center of his or her life, with Jesus being the norm by which the Bible is to be interpreted. We will not use the Bible to coerce or manipulate a person to our point of view.

Because we believe in religious freedom we will promote responsible citizenship as Christians, and will defend the freedom of all to believe or not to believe in God as their conscience dictates. We will not promote a given political party nor accept government faith based initiative monies. We will not use the pulpit or the church to promote secular politics in any fashion nor to condemn those who choose not to accept or practice the Christian faith.
